Fire Ant Rush Immunotherapy

Fire ant rush immunotherapy involves repeated injections of allergenic extract(s) over a 1-2 day period of time to reach a maintenance dose instead of the conventional method which requires up to 4 months to reach this same close. The procedure involves a more rapid buildup to the patients maintenance dose. This is especially important in fire ant allergy, since patients may run the risk of anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction) during buildup, as they are not protected from fire ant stings until they have reached their maintenance dose.
